Why We Started Ardiendo Learning
Reimagining Education
The concept of Ardiendo Learning was marked by an active and vibrant discussion between our Co-Founders, Arlene and Sierra Outerbridge.
Conversations at home between this mother-daughter duo, typically in the kitchen or around their kitchen table, often center on learning, teaching, and the experiences of students. This landmark conversation explored traditional learning and the impacts on students when differentiated techniques are absent in the educational process. As their conversations evolved, they realized that much of what can and should be done to inspire a love for learning would require a major shift in the educational realm.
Every student brings unique backgrounds, circumstances, learning needs, and desires to learn to any learning environment. Recognizing and embracing those differences became the foundation of their vision. Rather than asking students to fit into a one-size-fits-all system, they envisioned an approach that meets students where they are and empowers them to learn and grow.
Ardiendo Learning was born.
Our mission is to inspire students to become lifelong learners through student-mentor relationships. We believe some of the most meaningful learning takes place through personalized, 1-on-1 coaching and mentorship.
Our Coaches are not only subject matter experts, but also trusted guides and partners in students' overall learning and growth. We embrace every part of each student as part of the learning process, believing that everyone is capable of overcoming challenges, reaching their goals, and becoming a lifelong learner.
The word "ardiendo" is rooted in the Spanish language, and we love the many meanings it evokes: to glow, shine, heat up, and make smart. For our Co-Founders, it represents the transformative experience of discovering your passions and pursuing what inspires you. Our goal is to spark that fire in every student so they can discover their own version of Ardiendo.
Since 2020, we've been honored to partner with families throughout Central Florida and the U.S., supporting students as they pursue their academic and personal goals and grow into lifelong learners.

Dr. Sierra Outerbridge is an educator and researcher who specializes in learning sciences, including how students learn, what motivates them, and how emerging tools and methods shape those experiences. With over 7 years of teaching experience and a research-driven background, Sierra helps families approach learning with intention and clarity.
Arlene Outerbridge
Arlene Outerbridge is a college counselor who specializes in guiding students and families through academic planning and the college admissions process. With formal training and over 20 years of experience in college counseling and student guidance leadership, she provides expertise and a practical, student-centered approach.

Our specially trained coaches are college graduates, current college and graduate students, content experts, and teachers with expertise in specific subjects. All Coaches are trained in Ardiendo Learning's teaching methods, which prioritize the whole student during the learning process.

Our Coaches go through multiple interviews to assess their fit with Ardiendo Learning and teaching skills in their specific subject areas. Coaches must all complete and pass a background check before they are hired and start meeting with students.

During your initial consultation, we assess your student’s academic history, habits, strengths, and challenges. We use that information to find a coach that best fits your student’s academic needs and goals. Coaches are chosen based on their content proficiency and ability to teach skills such as time management, study habits, and intrinsic motivation.

We do not have a physical location, so this is at the discretion of the coach and the parent. Students and coaches can meet at third-party locations like coffee shops and libraries. The coach can meet at the student’s home with a parent or guardian present. They can also meet with students virtually.

Yes! All Ardiendo Learning coaches can meet with students for virtual sessions, usually through Zoom or Google Meet.
